Background:

Before coming to Potsdam (March, 1 1995): I studied French and German literary history and library science at University of Cologne and EHESS (École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales) in Paris; my PhD was on "Censorship of novels in the French enlightenment"; then I was research assistant at Institute for Applied Social Research, Cologne (E.K. Scheuch) organising the special library on applied social sciences of the Institute; then teaching French Studies at Stuttgart University, and finally head of "products and marketing"-dept. at Social Science Information Centre in Bonn.

 

Actually:

teaching (this summer) Library Management,  Library Typology etc. (list of courses, in German).

editing: the textbook on library management, the IFLA Reader on Knowledge Management, the series: "Libraries in the World"
